सीहोर: मध्य प्रदेश के सीहोर जिले के एक गांव में हुए विवाद के बाद गुरुवार को 28 वर्षीय एक व्यक्ति ने अपनी सौतेली मां, उसकी बहन और बेटी की धारदार हथियार से कथित तौर पर हत्या कर दी।
अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक समीर यादव ने बताया कि आरोपी नरेंद्र मालवीय की गिरफ्तारी के लिए छापेमारी शुरू कर दी गई है.
पुलिस अधिकारी ने बताया कि मृतक महिला चिंताबाई (50) नरेंद्र मालवीय के पिता अनोखेलाल मालवीय की तीसरी पत्नी थी और वह अपनी बहन और बेटी के साथ कोडियाचिटू गांव के एक खेत में रहती थी। उन्होंने बताया कि शुरुआती जांच के मुताबिक, अनोखीलाल मालवीय की दूसरी पत्नी गोकुलबाई के बेटे नरेंद्र मालवीय का आज सुबह किसी बात पर चिंताबाई से झगड़ा हो गया।
लड़ाई ने एक बदसूरत मोड़ ले लिया और नरेंद्र मालवीय ने तेज धार वाले हथियार से लैस होकर गुस्से में आकर चिंताबाई, उनकी बहन अयोध्याबाई (45) और बेटी पूनम (26) पर हमला कर दिया, जिससे उनकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई और एएसपी कहा हुआ।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) ने बताया कि मुंबई ने 545 नए कोविड -19 मामले दर्ज किए, जिससे कुल केसलोएड 7,29,795 हो गया। अब, अधिकतम शहर में 7,012 सक्रिय मामले हैं। दुर्भाग्य से, सह-रुग्णता वाले आठ सहित 13 लोगों ने घातक वायरस के कारण दम तोड़ दिया। कुल मौत का आंकड़ा 15,667 पहुंच गया है। जबकि 505 लोगों को स्वस्थ होने के बाद अस्पतालों से छुट्टी दे दी गई। स्वस्थ होने और छुट्टी देने वाले कुल सकारात्मक रोगियों की संख्या 7,04,764 है। मुंबई का रिकवरी रेट 96 फीसदी, डबलिंग रेट 948 दिन है। बीएमसी ने सात क्षेत्रों को ‘सक्रिय नियंत्रण क्षेत्र’ घोषित किया है और कोविड -19 संक्रमण के प्रसार को रोकने के लिए 73 इमारतों को सील कर दिया है।
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said her government has informed the Election Commission that the state was prepared to hold the pending by-elections to seven assembly seats as the COVID-19 situation is these poll-bound areas are largely under control. Banerjee, during a press meet here, noted that the EC had sought to know if Bengal was ready to conduct polls to two vacant Rajya Sabha seats, and the chief secretary, in his reply, gave assurance that the state could also hold bypolls to the seven assembly constituencies, while adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines.
“With the COVID-19 positivity rate having come down to 1.5 per cent in Bengal, the situation is conducive to conduct the by-elections as most of the poll-bound areas haven’t reported any fresh infection of late,” she said. In a jibe at the BJP, which claimed that Banerjee is desperately waiting for the bypolls as she needs to get elected to the Assembly to retain the CM’s chair, the TMC boss said the saffron party is opposed to the demand as it knows well that it won’t be able to clinch any seat.
“We have placed our demands before the EC following all constitutional norms. There is nothing illegal about it.If an emergency situation arises, the EC will accordingly take a decision. But isn’t COVID-19 under control in the seven seats now? Several wards of Bhabanipur havent reported any case over the past few days,” she pointed out.
Banerjee, who lost the elections from Nandigram, is expected to file nomination from Bhabanipur, which was vacated by winning TMC candidate Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, shortly after the results were declared. Chattopadhyay is slated to contest by-election from Khardah, which fell vacant after TMC’s Kajal Sinha succumbed to COVID-19.
In Gosaba, too, TMC winning candidate Jayanta Naskar died of COVID-related complications. Polls were countermanded in Jangipur and Samserganj following the death of candidates, also due to the viral disease.
In Dinhata and Santipur, the winning BJP nominees quit as MLAs as they wanted to retain parliamentary berths. Two Rajya Sabha seats fell vacant in the state after Dinesh Trivedi quit the membership of the Upper House in February this year, having switched to the BJP from the TMC, and Manas Bhuniya’s election as an MLA in the March-April Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, a TMC delegation — comprising MPs Derek O’Brien, Sukhendu Sekhar Roy and Sudip Bandyopadhyay — visited the EC office in Delhi on Thursday and appealed to the poll panel to conduct bypolls in Bengal at the earliest. The party, in a memorandum to the EC, said that if assembly elections could be held at the height of the pandemic, bypolls could be held at a time when the cases were significantly lower.

Warwickshire captain Willfred Rhodes will lead a 14-member Select County XI in a three-day warm-up game against India at the Riverside Side ground here from July 20-22, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Thursday.
Former England bowler and current Young Lions (A team) head coach Richard Dawson will oversee a “Select County XI to play India at the Emirates Riverside in a three-day match, starting on Tuesday 20 July.”
In earlier years, this team was commonly called “Combined Counties” which always had a first-class fixture against the touring countries.
The match will be played behind closed doors with Indian contingent already reporting multiple COVID-19 positive cases including first team keeper Rishabh Pant.
The Select County XI squad also includes recent Test debutant James Bracey and Nottinghamshire opener Haseeb Hameed, who made his Test debut against India in 2016.
“The squad was selected after consulting with the first-class counties on player availability and to provide some of the high-potential talent from across the county game with the opportunity to test themselves against the ICC World Test Championship finalists,” ECB stated.
A short bubble is set to be created by ECB for this game after all selected players undergo COVID-19 tests.
“The county players will bridge into a team environment and undergo Covid testing before being cleared to play in the match.”
The ECB thanked first-class counties for their “continued support to make players available for this fixtures and to Durham County Cricket Club for providing facilities for this match to be staged.”
The match will be available to watch live via Durham County Cricket Club’s YouTube channel with ball-by-ball commentary also available on BBC radio.

NAVI MUMBAI: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) on Thursday informed that 86 people tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. The overall count in the region has now increased to 1,2,406. Two people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death count to 1,794. Also, 104 people were discharged from hospitals after making a recovery. Till date, 90,139 people have recovered. The active cases in the region now stand at 1,473. Whereas, 415 people are in home isolation. Among the new cases, 29 people tested positive in Belapur, 18 in Vashi, 12 in Turbhe, 10 in Koparkhairne, seven each in Ghansoli and Airoli and one in Digha.
ATS officers say that more crucial information related to terrorists will be available if videos, photos and emails that were deleted by terror suspects are recovered.
Days after the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested two terrorists of the Al Qaeda-supported Ansar Ghazwatul Hind from the outskirts of Lucknow, their sinisters plans have been revealed. The terrorists identified as Minhaz Ahmad and Maseeruddin were planning to execute attacks using e-rickshaws, UP ATS has said.
Reports say the duo was planning to “unleash terror activities” on August 15 in different cities of the state, including Lucknow. The terrorists were planning to execute serial blasts in Lucknow and other densely-populated cities on the occasion of Independence Day. The terrorists had a crafted plan to plant bombs in crowded areas, including markets with a heavy footfall in the state.
Terrorists were looking for unregistered vehicles
Terrorists were looking for an unregistered e-rickshaw for the blast. Musheer was engaged in contacting the e-rickshaw drivers and owners without registration and had conversations with 16 such people.
The terrorists were planning to execute their plan in such a way that even after their deadly acts, investigating agencies wouldn’t have been able to trace the owner of vehicles used in the attack.

Terrorists deleted several photos, videos that could lead to crucial information
Terrorist Minhaj is not fully cooperating with investigating agencies, however, the ATS is trying to recover deleted videos and emails that could lead to important information.
Officials say Minhaj and Masiruddin have deleted many videos and emails from their mobiles, although their mobile phones have been sent to the forensic lab to recover the deleted data if possible.
ATS officers say that crucial information related to terrorists will be available if videos, photos and emails are recovered. It is also believed that many more contacts of both terrorists could be revealed from these emails.
Contradictions in terror suspects statements
Two ATS officers, who are interrogated terror suspects Minhaj and Musheer separately, have found contradictions in statements. The two were confronted by officials on various questions.
Minhaj was asked about phone numbers saved in his mobile but he could not give a satisfactory answer. There were also some text messages about which Minhaj kept confusing the officers about them too.
