Dri Nabs Two African Nat’ls Flying Into City With Drugs | Mumbai News – Times of India



MUMBAI: In two separate cases, two foreign nationals who arrived allegedly carrying cocaine were nabbed by the Directorate Revenue of Intelligence (DRI) and Customs at Shivaji Chhatrapati Maharaj International Airport.
In the first case, 56-year-old Nigerian national Ikechukwu Akandu, who arrived by Ethiopian airlines on Monday was detained as DRI officials had specific information about him carrying drugs in his body. A court-permiited X ray examination prima facie confirmed the presence of foreign particles in his body. “Suspect Akandu has been admitted to the JJ hospital and is undergoing the process of excretion,” said an officer.
In the second case, DRI intercepted Tanzanian national Mushi Remmy (42), who arrived from Addis Ababa on Monday. His personal search resulted in recovery of 210 grams of white powder. First feild testing kit showed the sample as positive for cocaine, a substance covered under the NDPS Act. — Ahmed Ali

Two boys who drugged, robbed astrologer held
Two teenagers in Kanpur were arrested after they uploaded a video on social media showing them having fun with stolen money. The boys had stolen cash, jewellery, and other valuables from an astrologer’s house. The police traced their location through e-surveillance and recovered around Rs 1.9 lakh in cash and two mobile phones from them. The theft had been reported on October 2, and the police were able to track down the boys through the reels they had uploaded.
