ओंगोल (आंध्र प्रदेश)। आंध्र प्रदेश के प्रकाशम जिले में पुलिस ने 7 साल की बच्ची से दुष्कर्म और हत्या के आरोप में एक 30 वर्षीय व्यक्ति दुदेकुला सिद्धैया को गिरफ्तार किया है। एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने मंगलवार को कहा, गुरुवार को आरोपी 7 साल की बच्ची को अपने घर ले आया, जो उसके घर के पास खेल रही थी। फिर उसने उसका यौन उत्पीड़न किया और फिर गला दबाकर उसे मार दिया।
यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कि लड़की मर गई है, सिद्दैया ने उसका सिर एक चट्टान से भी मार दिया क्योंकि उसे डर था कि नाबालिग अगर बच गई तो वह दूसरों को बता सकती है कि उसने उसके साथ क्या किया।
बाद में, उसने उसके शरीर को एक प्लास्टिक की थैली में लपेट दिया और उसे प्रकाशम जिले के गिद्दालुरु मंडल के अंबावरम गांव के बाहरी इलाके में फेंक दिया।
इस भीषण घटना के बाद, पुलिस ने विशेष टीमों का गठन किया था, जो सोमवार शाम को गिद्दलुरु बस स्टैंड के गेट के पास से आरोपी को गिरफ्तार करने में सफल रही।
पुलिस ने आईपीसी की धारा 366 (ए), 342, 376 (ए) (बी), 302, 201 और पोक्सो अधिनियम की धारा 6 के तहत मामला दर्ज किया है। (आईएएनएस)

After kicking-off the election campaign in Punjab and Uttarakhand, Aam Aadmi Party chief (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal is in Goa on Wednesday where he is expected to announce 300 units of free electricity to the people of the state as a pre-poll promise.
Kejriwal, who landed in Goa at 2:45pm at the Dabolim Airport a day earlier, will address a press conference on Wednesday at AAP’s Panaji office quarters ahead of the 2022 assembly elections in the coastal state.
According to highly placed sources within AAP, consumption above 300 units would be charged at 50 per cent only.
When CNN-News18 contacted AAP Goa vice-president Pratima Countinho, she refused to comment but stated that the party was involved in taking major decisions. Countinho added that the AAP was an alternative force to the BJP and hence, was expecting major inductions in the next few days.
Kejriwal has been powering his campaign in poll-bound states with promises of 300 units of free electricity, In Punjab, where power disruptions are a major poll plank, the Delhi chief minister made three promises — to provide 300 units of electricity free to every household in Punjab, waive off pending electricity bill of every domestic consumer and provide uninterrupted electricity supply 24 hours a day.
Pointing out that electricity tariffs were among the highest in the country despite Punjab producing more electricity than it needs, Kejriwal argued that the high rates could be explained by a ‘dirty nexus’ between the electricity companies and the political governing class of Punjab.
He replicated the model in Uttarakhand, which goes to polls in 2022. In Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun on Sunday, Kejriwal made four big-ticket announcements to woo voters ahead of the 2022 elections — 300 units of free electricity, free power for farmers, waiver of old bills and 24-hour electricity supply.
The Delhi chief minister’s promise came just a day after he asked why the people of Uttarakhand, which generates electricity, cannot get free power like in the national capital. AAP has decided to contest the Assembly polls in the state due next year.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is looking to expand its base in six major states going for polls in the next one and a half years. Assembly elections in Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat will be held in 2022 and AAP has announced to contest polls in all the six states. Punjab is the only state where the Arvind Kejriwal-led party is a major player.
However, the inroads it made in Gujarat in the local body polls boosted AAP’s morale to fight the BJP in its home turf. While, AAP had contested most of these six states unsuccessfully in 2017, the party this time hopes to ride on Kejriwal’s popularity after he repeated his landslide victory in Delhi in February 2020 to become the Chief Minister of the national capital city for the third time.
Moreover, the AAP is promoting the ‘Delhi model’ to position itself as an alternative to Congress and BJP. AAP is also riding high after gaining political mileage over its free electricity policy in Delhi. Therefore, the party has promised free power upto 300 units in both Punjab and Uttarakhand.

Senior Union Ministers and BJP chief J.P. Nadda met on Tuesday to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament starting from July 19.
A party insider said that the meeting was held at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence and lasted for around three hours.
Union Ministers Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Pralhad Joshi, Bhupender Yadav, Arjun Ram Meghwal and others were present in the meeting along with party chief Nadda.
“Strategy for the upcoming monsoon session was discussed. Strategy for countering opposition attacks on issues like Covid management, inflation and others were discussed in detail,” the party insider said.
The government is expecting a stormy session in which opposition parties are likely to corner it on Covid management during the second wave, and fuel prices.
“It was decided that we will counter the opposition attack by highlighting government efforts to contain the second wave and plans for managing the third wave, and measures for people and measures taken to boost the economy,” a source said.
The BJP has to also appoint a new Leader of House in the Rajya Sabha after Union Minister Thawarchand Gehlot was made Governor of Karnataka. Names of senior party leaders and some Union Ministers are already doing rounds for the possible replacement.
This will be the first parliament session after Assembly polls in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Keral and Puducherry.D

New HC bench to hear Mamata’s election petition challenging Suvendu’s Nandigram win on Wednesday
A new bench will take up on Wednesday West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s election petition before the Calcutta High Court challenging BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s victory from the Nandigram constituency in the assembly elections. The case was reassigned to the bench of Justice Shampa Sarkar by Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal after Justice Kausik Chanda recused from hearing the Trinamool Congress supremo’s election petition.
The matter has been listed for hearing at 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
Adhikari defeated Banerjee from the Nandigram constituency by 1,956 votes in the assembly election held earlier in the year.
Justice Kausik Chanda had on July 7 recused from hearing the Trinamool Congress supremo’s petition challenging the election of Adhikari from Nandigram, and imposed a cost of Rs five lakh on her for the manner in which the recusal was sought.
Releasing the election petition of Banerjee on an application by her for recusal expressing apprehension of bias against her by his bench, Justice Chanda had said that he was doing so in order to thwart at the outset attempts by trouble-mongers to keep the controversy alive.
Banerjee’s lawyers had suggested that Justice Chanda should recuse himself from the case since he was associated with the legal cell of the BJP before his elevation as a Judge and had appeared in a number of cases on behalf of the said party before the high court as a lawyer.
Her lawyer had suggested during his submissions before the court that there is a conflict of interest since Justice Chanda had a close relationship with the BJP and the petitioner has challenged the election of a BJP candidate.
In its order, the court had said that it is preposterous to suggest that a judge having a past association with a political party as a lawyer should not receive a case involving the said political party or any of its members.
Justice Chanda had noted that like any other citizen of the country, a judge also exercises his voting rights in favour of a political party, but he lays aside his individual predilection while deciding a case.

New Delhi: Among the many launches for the upcoming Amazon Prime Day Sale, previously banned apparel app SHEIN will make a comeback through the e-commerce site.
SHEIN is a Chinese e-commerce application that offers a wide range of women’s apparel. After the ban of Chinese apps, SHEIN was one application that was dearly missed but has found a way back to India.
SHEIN is set to launch in India via Amazon during the upcoming Prime Day sale. Amazon is kicking off the Prime Day sale on July 26 and the two-day event will be live only till July 27.
Last year, the Indian government announced a ban on several most-loved Chinese apps. Some of these have used their creativity to get back into the Indian market.
While it did leave many fans terribly sad to see their favourite app go, PUBG eventually made a comeback in the form of Battlegrounds Mobile India for Android and will soon be released for IOS as well.
SHEIN was one of the first 59 Chinese applications that were banned in India. The list of apps included some really popular apps including TikTok, WeChat, SHEIN, Aliexpress, ShareIt, UC Browser, among others.
These applications were banned back in June, 2020, by the Ministry of Information Technology under section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
As the Congress high command continues with its efforts to ease tension between Congress MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, poll strategist Prashant Kishor met Rahul Gandhi at his residence in Delhi on Tuesday. Sources told CNN-News18 that a possible solution on the crisis was expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Sidhu and Amarinder have been at loggerheads with each other for a while. Ahead of the state assembly elections last year, the central party leadership had also constituted a panel to resolve the crisis. On Tuesday, Sidhu’s tweets left many in the party baffled with some them interpreting it as ‘cozying up’ to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
As speculations on what will take place next remain rife, here’s a look at the brief timeline of how and when the relationship between Sidhu and Singh soured:
2021
Both Singh and Sidhu met on March 18 over a tea for nearly 50 minutes in Mohali after which speculations were rife that the latter will be reinducted into the state cabinet. “It was a good meeting. We have a cordial relation and I am waiting for him to reply. I am sure he will decide on what is in favour of the party and the state,” Amarinder Singh has said on being asked about the meeting. He added that he had known Sidhu for decades now and he will do what is good for the party and the state.
However, later in May, Sidhu once again attacked Singh over the 2015 Kotkapura firing, saying the Punjab and Haryana High court’s order to form a new SIT to probe the incident was accepted by the state government to “deflect” people’s attention. “Nefarious intentions are evident, No High Court stopped you in 4-1/2 yrs ! When DGP/CPS appointments are set aside, orders are challenged in Higher Courts in matter of hours. Now, first you attack the High Court, than from backdoor accept same orders to deflect People’s attention,” Sidhu had alleged in a tweet.
Sidhu has been targeting the Chief Minister over the alleged delay in delivering justice in the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and post sacrilege police firing incident.
2020
Both the leaders met on November 25 over a lunch, triggering speculation that Sidhu may be re-inducted into the state cabinet. A media adviser to the Chief Minister had then said that both leaders spent an hour together at Singh’s residence in Punjab and shared thoughts on various issues.
At that time, it was thought that the tensions between both leaders appeared to have eased when the Chief Minister praised the Amritsar MLA for the way he spoke in the assembly after the Congress government had moved a resolution and brought bills against the farm laws last month.
2019
Sidhu’s portfolio was changed from the Local Bodies’ to the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy in this year. However, he did not assume charge of his new department. Singh had cited “inept” handling of local bodies department by Sidhu, which led to the Congress’s poor performance in urban areas, as the reason behind taking away the role. Even the state unit also did not give an election ticket to Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur.
The rift became even more evident when reacting to Sidhu’s mannerisms, Singh had said, “Perhaps he is ambitious and wants to be chief minister.”
In the same year, Sidhu resigned from the Punjab Cabinet but what had raised eyebrows at the time was Sidhu’s move to send his resignation letter to Rahul Gandhi.
2018
According to reports, Singh was not in the favour of Sidhu when he joined the Congress in 2017 just ahead of the Punjab assembly election. It became a little evident when Sidhu in November 2018 publicly had said, “My captain is Rahul Gandhi, who is also his (Amarinder’s) captain. Wherever I went, it was with his approval.”
