iPhone 15 has these new features that makes it better than the iPhone 14
Apple iPhone 15 has a slew of upgrades this year that looks to justify the Rs 10,000 price difference between its predecessor. Here are the details.
iPhone 15 series was unveiled this week and the excitement was palpable as millions were glued to their screens to watch the company officially talk about the new iPhones on Tuesday evening. The iPhone 15 lineup includes the usual suspects, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and the 15 Pro Max. But it goes without saying that for buyers in India, the most affordable iPhone 15 model will get the most attention.
Yes, the prices of the older iPhones have come down (iPhone 14 and iPhone 13) in the country but even then Apple is giving you not just one but multiple reasons to consider going for the latest iPhone 15 instead of its predecessor. Here are all the detailed features of the iPhone 15 that make it better than the iPhone 14 even though it costs Rs 10,000 more in the country.
iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14: New Features Worth Looking Checking Out
Refreshed Design
iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 don’t look very different when you see them from the back but there are minute changes offered by Apple that could have some impact on how they view the upgraded model. Apple says that the iPhone 15 is made using aluminium with a colour-infused glass back panel. The iPhone 14 was only made using aluminium with a glass back. Now, it is not clear how big a difference that is but going by the details from the company, we thought of putting it out there.
Dynamic Island Is Here
iPhone 15 model also gets the Dynamic Island notch this year, which wasn’t offered on the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. We also noticed that the size of the bezels on the iPhone 15 are slightly thinner than its predecessor. Having the dynamic island notch allows you to receive cab status, track food delivery and even battery charging alerts, among others. Would you call it a game changer, not really but it’s good to have the new display tech available on the vanilla model.
A16 Bionic From The Pros
Apple has now made a clear distinction between its vanilla and Pro iPhone models. One of them is the use of the older A-series bionic chip for the former. With the iPhone 15, you get the A16 Bionic chip which powers the iPhone 14 Pros last year. But now with the launch of the A17 Pro chip for the iPhone 15 Pro series, Apple has passed on this highly-capable chip to its base model. This is a definite upgrade on the A15 Bionic chip but not likely to be visible with basic or heavy usage.
New Camera And Tech
iPhone 15 features a 48MP primary rear camera with sensor-shift OIS and a 12MP ultrawide lens. Generally, we say that higher megapixels don’t mean better quality but in this case, we might have to make an exception. iPhone 14 came with a dual 12MP camera system at the back. The optical zoom on the iPhone 15 is 4X range now, compared to the 2x zoom offered by the iPhone 14.
USB C On An iPhone
It’s happening, Apple is finally bringing USB C charging tech to the iPhones, albeit forced into it. The company has confirmed the new charging tech for the iPhone 15 series, which serves better convenience for people who don’t need to carry multiple chargers for their devices. Does the new port offer fast charging speeds, we’re not sure yet but at least you can use third-party chargers now without any issues.
