Fir Against Labourer Who Killed Lover At Building Site | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: A labourer has been booked for the alleged murder of his live-in partner at an under-construction building site in Santacruz (W). Police have been looking for the accused, Shahbuddin Gazi, after the body of his live-in partner, Mariam Bibi alias Sundari, was discovered by the site supervisor, Raj Mohammad Syed, on September 19.
According to Syed’s complaint, Mariam was living with Gazi for the past year and half in a tin shed on the first floor of the building site. Syed told police that Gazi used to often get drunk and thrash Mariam.
From September 10, Gazi stopped working at the site, and asked Syed to pay his dues. On September 18, Syed paid Gazi Rs 12,000 in wages. Gazi was drunk at the time. Later the same day, the watchman saw Gazi leave the building with a bag.
On September 19, when Gazi did not report to work, Syed went to the tin shed and found Mariam on the bed with injuries on her face and a pillow lying next to her. He alerted Santacruz police who took Mariam to a hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. tnn

Kolkata: No CC to buildings if trees hacked illegally at construction sites
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) buildings department has decided to withhold the completion certificate (CC) for housing projects or individual buildings if trees have been cut without permission. The CC is required for legal status and access to water and drainage connections. KMC officials will visit construction sites to compare the number of trees in the plans with those on-site. The KMC parks department will work with the buildings department to prevent unauthorized tree felling. Any deviation will result in an FIR and the withholding of the CC.
Small OPD building forces patients to sit, wait under tin shed
The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur is facing a space crunch in its OPD building, forcing patients to wait under a tin shed outside. The entire process, from registration to medicine distribution, is online at NIA. Patients are given a number at registration and are called in for consultation based on that number. Doctors prescribe medicines online, and patients receive printed prescriptions to collect their medicines. However, patients complain that the online system takes longer as doctors have to input all relevant information.
