Watch: Virat Kohli responds after Ishan Kishan imitates his walk following Asia Cup 2023 triumph

In a hilarious video, India wicket-keeping batter Ishan Kishan and former skipper Virat Kohli can be seen imitating each other’s walk after winning the 2023 Asia Cup title. India hammered Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to lift their record-extending eighth Asia Cup title at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Kishan mimicked Kohli’s walk ahead of the presentation ceremony. The wicket-keeping batter stressed on the neck jerks while copying Kohli’s walk. Following Kishan’s attempt of imitating Kohli, the superstar batter responded by mimicking Kishan’s walk, which extracted loud laughs from his onlooking teammates.

India clinched the Asia Cup 2023 title by defeating Sri Lanka in a decisive 10-wicket victory. The final match, held in Colombo, saw India pacer Mohammed Siraj deliver an extraordinary bowling performance, taking six wickets in just seven overs. This included a remarkable feat of claiming four wickets in a single over, making him the first Indian bowler to achieve this in the tournament’s history.

Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka and Kusal Mendis to complete his six-wicket haul. Sri Lanka’s batting lineup crumbled under the pressure, with the team being bundled out for a meager 50 runs.

India’s openers, Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, then effortlessly chased down the target in just 6.1 overs, securing the trophy for their team. Gill, who scored a total of 302 runs in the tournament, was named the leading run-scorer of Asia Cup 2023.

This was India’s biggest winning margin in terms of balls remaining. The previous best was against Kenya in 2001, where they chased down a target of 91 with 231 balls to spare.

This victory marks India’s eighth Asia Cup championship win, further solidifying their dominance in the tournament and points to positive signs going into the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
