Aakash Chopra heaped praise on Mohammad Rizwan after his composed innings helped Pakistan defeat Bangladesh by seven wickets on Wednesday.
Bangladesh were bundled out for 193 runs on the back of a fantastic performance from the Pakistan pace attack. The chase, however, wasn’t a straightforward affair as they lost two quick wickets and were in a spot of bother.
Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq’s partnership helped stabilise the innings. The Pakistan wicketkeeper delivered a stunning performance against Bangladesh in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup 2023. His remarkable fifty played a crucial role in Pakistan’s competitive total against Bangladesh.

Rizwan scored 63 runs off 79 deliveries, providing stability to the innings and helping Pakistan secure a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh.
His composed and calculated batting not only showcased his prowess but also his ability to anchor the innings effectively. This performance was a highlight of the thrilling encounter and was widely appreciated by cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, as quoted by Sportskeeda, Chopra praised Rizwan and said that he is a player who flourishes when more pressure is put on him.
“Mohammad Rizwan – I like this player a lot. He is a warrior and he keeps fighting. The more pressure you put on him, the more he flourishes. Whether you play him in T20Is, ODIs or Tests, somehow whenever Pakistan are struggling, it brings the best out of him.”
Chopra also pointed out how Rizwan is a very good player against pace and spin equally and stayed till the end to ensure Pakistan won the game on Wednesday.
“Here also he stayed till the end and won them the match. He played very good sweeps and danced down the wicket to hit over cover. He plays spin extremely well and he has a very good pick-up shot against fast bowling. So Mohammad Rizwan is actually a very, very good player.”
