Mumbai: The Wankhede Stadium is likely to host a women’s Test between India and Australia in December this year. The Indian women’s team last played a Test—their maiden pink ball Test—in 2021 against Australia at Gold Coast, while the last women’s Test on Indian soil was the India-South Africa game in 2013. The match ended in a draw.
The BCCI has postponed the Indian women’s team’s home season of international games due to the 2023 World Cup. The team still does not have a head coach. Apart from Australia, England and New Zealand too are supposed to tour India this home season.
