Two Mumbai trainee pilots among three killed in Canada plane crash | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Yash Ramugude from Andheri and Abhay Gadroo (in pic) from Vasai who were among the three men killed in a plane crash in Canada early Saturday, were passionate about flying since childhood.
A resident of Evershine City in Vasai, Abhay had gone to Canada in April 2021 to pursue his dream of flying. He was to return in November after completing 250 hours of flying.
The twin-engined light aircraft, Piper PA-34 Seneca, primarily used for personal and business flying, crashed into trees and bushes behind a motel in the city of Chilliwack in Canada’s British Columbia province.
Trainee pilot Yash Ramugude, in his early 20s lived in Andheri. His father Vijay is the proprietor of a logistics company. The crash took place around 200km east of Vancouver.
Abhay’s parents Bhavani and Anil were on a religious tour and were to return to Vasai on Sunday. They got the news about the crash early Saturday.
Residents of the three -storey Krishna Vandan complex, comprising three wings, were shocked on hearing the news. Gaurav Goel, a neighbour and friend who was the first to hear the news, said that Abhay was among the few in his circle who was focused about his career path. “He always spoke about becoming a pilot,” said Goel, a chartered accountant.
Abhay who studied in Vidya Vikas school in Vasai and graduated from the Thakur College in Kandivli was remembered as a fun-loving person who was always ready to help others. “We spoke at length during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival when the idol was brought to Abhay’s house,” said Goel.
Their parents had visited Abhay and younger son Chirag recently after the mother retired as a teacher from a school in Sion. Chiraj had gone to Canada a year ago to pursue his management studies and was in touch with Abhay, who stayed at a distance. Chiraj has been completing the formalities before bringing the mortal remains to India.
