Mumbai: Charas worth Rs 1 crore seized from duo in Bandra | Mumbai News – Times of India
MUMBAI: The Anti-Narcotics Cell on Wednesday arrested two drug peddlers in Bandra and recovered banned drugs to the tune of Rs 1 crore from them. According to the officials, around 2 kgs of charas was found in the possession of the duo. A case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and further investigation is underway. Officials are trying to find out the source of the illegal narcotic and if the duo was planning to sell it to a third party. In a similar incident, the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Thane Police on July 1 had arrested three alleged drug peddlers and had recovered nearly 2 kgs of charas from them. The total drugs amounted to Rs 40 lakhs. Besides, 224 grams of ganja and 16 LSD papers were also seized from the trio. A few days ago, a woman was apprehended from Mumbai’s Nagpada area with hashish worth Rs 1 crore. According to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the contraband was brought to the city from Jammu and Kashmir. During the operation, the NCB also found that drug peddlers were using women and minors for trafficking narcotics in the city.
