The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) was to publish the results for the third all-India round on September 16. This round, though, can only start after the states’ second round concludes and their admission report is sent to the MCC. A central government official said several states are still to complete their second round, which was one of the reasons for postponing the process. The CET cell also extended the deadline for students to resign from the seats allotted in the second round as students can do so only after they know their seat position in the third allotment round.
The Maharashtra chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Junior Doctors Network too had raised concerns over massive seat blocking during the process. The network, in its letter to the union ministry of health and family welfare, also mentioned that most states are not following the schedule announced by the MCC. The junior doctors sought a stay on the third round from the union ministry.
In another circular issued by the MCC on Monday, it said candidates who have joined any seat through seat counseling will not be able to participate in the all-India stray vacancy round.tnn

The CAP has faced criticism for favoring certain colleges, but officials argue that colleges are chosen by students themselves. In other news, government PU colleges in Dakshina Kannada are experiencing a decline in admissions, while unaided colleges continue to see an increase. Reasons for this trend include the preference for private colleges and a lack of good teaching staff in government colleges.
