Infosys completes acquisition of India IT centre of Nordic-based Danske Bank – Times of India

Indian IT giant Infosys has completed the acquisition of Danske Bank’s IT centre in India. In June, India’s No.2 IT services provider, signed a $454-million contract with Denmark’s Danske Bank. Infosys said in a regulatory filing that it bagged a digital transformation deal with Danske Bank for a period of five years. Headquartered in Denmark, Danske Bank provides banking services to personal and business customers, as well as large corporate and institutional customers.
What is the deal about
The deal, which can be extended for three additional years, is to accelerate the Nordic-based bank’s digital transformation initiatives with scale. This collaboration, according to Infosys, will help Danske Bank better its customer experiences and technology modernisation. The bank will use Infosys Topaz, an AI-first set of services, solutions and platforms, experience design and services that support operations, said the company.
The Bengaluru-based software exporter acquired the lender’s IT centre in Bengaluru which employs 1,400 people, as part of the deal.
Infosys’ contract announcement in June came just days after Mumbai-based bigger rival TCS signed a deal worth 840 million pounds with British pension scheme Nest, for a starting tenure of 10 years. “This collaboration will help Danske Bank achieve its strategic priorities towards better customer experiences, operational excellence, and a modernised technology landscape, powered by next-gen solutions,” the release added.
Signed partnership with Tennis stars
Infosys recently signed multi-year partnerships with two Tennis stars. The company appointed women’s tennis World No.1 Iga Swiatek as its global brand ambassador as part of a multi-year partnership. It has also signed a three-year partnership with Rafael Nadal, onboarding the global tennis star as an ambassador for the brand and Infosys’ Digital Innovation. To mark Nadal’s first-ever collaboration with a digital services company, Infosys and Nadal’s coaching team are developing an AI-powered match analysis tool, the Bengaluru-headquartered company said in a release.
