India at Asian Games: Here’s the schedule of Indian Contingent at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022– Thursday, 5th Oct 2023.
India Schedule at Asian Games, October 5, 2023: With only three days remaining for the closing ceremony, India will be looking to get closer to the landmark of 100 medals in a single edition of the Asian Games. They will have the opportunity to add a few of them on October 5 as India are expected to compete in seven events including archery, ju-jitsu, wrestling, badminton, boxing, squash and women’s hockey. It would be interesting to see how much more silverware can they add in Hangzhou.
After scripting history in shooting events, India is also looking to achieve a similar feat in archery. The Indian duo of Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Pravin Ojas Deotale has already bagged a gold in the compound archery mixed team event. In boxing, Nikhat Zareen bagged a bronze medal in the women’s 50 kg event. India’s best medal haul at the Asian Games has been in wrestling. They will be looking to make the tally even better in their upcoming events.
India are just two wins away from bagging a gold after a 41-year drought in women’s hockey. They were able to top their pool after beating Hong Kong China 13-0 in their previous game. India will next compete against the runners-up of the second pool in the semi-finals of the tournament.
