India Schedule at Asian Games, September 21, 2023: Event Timings and Live Streaming Details – News18

The Asian Games 2023 commenced on September 19 in Hangzhou, China. Sporting events including men’s football and volleyball are scheduled to be played on Tuesday. However, the opening ceremony for the sporting extravaganza will not be held until September 23.

On September 21, the Indian contingent will be competing in sporting events including cricket, football, rowing and sailing. Ever since the introduction of rowing back in the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi, India has managed to secure 23 medals in the sporting event. This impressive medal tally also includes two golds. India can expect some healthy competition from Chinese rowers at the Asian games.

Sailing made its first appearance in the 1970 Asian Games. Since then, India has managed to accumulate one gold, seven silvers and 12 bronze medals in the competition’s history. It was Farokh Tarapore and Zarir Karanjia who achieved India’s only gold medal in the fireball category at the Asian Games held in 1982.

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team will be beginning their campaign against Malaysia, whereas the Men’s Football team will be aching to secure their first win following their defeat to China.

The Indian Women’s football team will also face off against Chinese Taipei.

The Indian Rowing contingent will be looking forward to keeping their successful advances alive and to secure spots in the respective finals of their events.
