The starting price of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max in India is Rs 1,59,000.

Indians have made 25% more pre-bookings this time compared to the iPhone 14 series launched last year.

The latest iPhone series, which comprises the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max, is now available for pre-order. In comparison to various regions such as the US, Japan, Dubai, Canada and others, all four of the iPhone 15 series models are relatively pricey in India. The starting price of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max in India is Rs 1,59,000, whereas the equivalent pricing in the US is about Rs 99,411.

But apparently, that has not stopped large-scale pre-bookings for the iPhone 15 which began 4 days back. Indians have made 25 per cent more pre-bookings this time compared to the iPhone 14 launched last year. This time, Apple had 3 lakh units of the iPhone 15 available for pre-order at the time of introduction but they quickly sold out in response to Indian consumers’ demands.

Now, it goes without saying that owning an iPhone is ecstatic and it is certainly a smart investment but have you ever given a thought to if there was any better way the money could have been put to use? Let us say for example the money spent by a customer to buy an iPhone was invested in a mutual fund for the same amount of time as the lifespan of the Apple product. On average, it is considered to be 5 years, so analyse mutual funds on a duration of 5 years.

When it comes to mutual funds, Mirae Asset Tax Saver Fund Direct-Growth has produced a return of 25.48 per cent over the past five years. This fund’s average yearly return is 18.39 per cent. The amount of an iPhone 15 Pro Max (Rs 1,59,900) invested in this fund will double in value in just three years. The entire sum will rise to Rs 6,21,850 if we look at the returns after 5 years, and you will receive an interest of Rs 4,21,950.

Do you realise that you can bring home a brand-new SUV with this return on investment? The ex-showroom price of Tata’s compact SUV Punch in Delhi is Rs 5.99 lakh. So, not opting for an iPhone and instead investing the same amount of money for 5 years allows you to own an SUV of your own.
