Google has made a habit of leaking and announcing things well before the official launch date, which is still a few weeks away. Apple is the main player entering the final leg of its iPhone 15 launch which is happening next week. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be the successor to the Pixel 7 series also launched in India, the first premium Pixel phone in the country after a couple of years. But it seems Google is now confident about its prospects in India, which explains the India announcement just 24 hours after the global unveiling of the phones.
Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro India Details
Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro pre-orders in India start October 5 and are only available through Flipkart, which is Google’s official partner for Pixel phones in the country. The Pixel 8 series global launch should give us an idea about the new Pixel’s pricing in India.
Google Pixel 8 And Pixel 8 Pro Specifications Expected
According to the teaser shared by Made by Google, both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones will maintain a similar appearance to last year’s Pixel 7 models, except this year’s Pixel could feature rounded edges.
Google is likely to use the new Tensor G3 chipset to power the devices and going by these visuals, you can clearly make out that the Pixel 8 will have a dual-rear camera system, while the Pixel 8 Pro yet again comes with a triple camera setup at the back. It is rumoured that Google will announce the new Android 14 version with the Pixel 8 series, making it the first phone to come with the software out of the box.
Reports also say that Google could finally offer as many as 5 OS updates for Pixel phones running on the Tensor chip, which will put it on par with Apple’s iOS support for iPhones.
