Congress leader Rahul Gandhi likes legendary footballer Lionel Messi but he is not a “huge” cricket fan.

On Sunday, the Congress leader attended a conclave organised by the Pratidin Media Network of Assam in New Delhi. Besides politics, he was asked a bunch of questions about his choices in pop culture, movies, sports, and more.

When asked to pick his favourite between Messi and Ronaldo in a rapid-fire round of the event, Rahul Gandhi also said that he likes Ronaldo because of his kindness but considers Messi better than him. “If I was running a football team and I am asked who would I prefer, I would probably prefer Messi,” he said.

The MP said had he not been a politician, he could have been ‘anything’. “When I am talking to my nephew and his friends, I am a teacher. When I am in the kitchen, I am a cook. Politician is just one frame of me. We all have many different frames,” he said.

When asked to choose between Bharat and India, the Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad, Kerala said, “India that is Bharat’. The debate of changing of country’s name is abuzz after the Rashtrapati Bhawan sent out the invite for the G20 dinner earlier this month in the name of the ‘President of Bharat’ instead of the usual ‘President of India’.

When asked who he would choose between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Gandhi’s answer shocked many.  He said, “Either one as I am not a huge cricket fan. I know that’s not a good thing to say.”

In another fun twisted question to choose between Netflix and workout, Congress MP opted for the workout. Rahul Gandhi also revealed that he likes both Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Guess what, another question came from the movies section and Gandhi had to choose between Godfather and Dark Knight. Well, he considered both movies as “deep” and hence he can’t pick one.

Rahul Gandhi’s beard look during his Kanyakumari to Kashmir padayatra gained a lot of eyeballs. But when the MP was asked to choose between a clean shave or a Bharat Jodo beard, he said “I am never too concerned about beard hai, nahi hai. I am okay with everything.”
