Last week, Singapore-based online games developer and publisher, Garena announced that it will relaunch the popular Free Fire India mobile game. The company announced that it will launch the Garena Free Fire India on September 5 in the country. However, the online games developer has now decided to postpone the relaunch of the game.
Garena Free Fire India not launching anytime soon
Garena has postponed the relaunch of Free Fire India mobile game. The company has not yet revealed the new launch date. “We are delighted by the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from our Indian community to the announcement of the launch of Free Fire India. To ensure we can offer the best possible experience to all of our Free Fire India fans from the start, we will postpone the launch by a few more weeks. In addition to refining the gameplay, we are taking some time to fully complete our localisation of the Free Fire India experience. We would like to thank our Free Fire India community for your support and hope that you will bear with us while we work on bringing you the ultimate battle royale experience,” posted the company on X (Formerly known as Twitter).
The popular mobile game was relaunching after almost one and a half year after the game was banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, citing the Section 69a of the IT ACT, 2000. The game was banned along with 50 other China-linked apps. The battle royale game had over 40 million of its 75 million globally monthly active users in India in January, according to analytics firm App Annie. In fact, ‘Garena’s Free Fire: Illuminate’ was the most popular app to be banned in India in February 2022.

These features encompass content tailored to Indian players and elements that promote a safe, enjoyable gaming experience.
