Fadnavis in ‘stupor’, says Saamna edit, copies burnt | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) on Saturday launched a scathing attack on deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis saying that Fadnavis was a sensitive person earlier, but after becoming ‘deputy’ (CM) he lost his sensitivity and became a giant of ego. Sena, in an editorial in the party’s mouthpiece Saamna, said that the inferiority complex of being the ‘deputy’ of the ‘chief ’ has upset him.
The Saamna editorial alleged that as Fadnavis is often in a state of stupor, he does not understand the truth in the ‘early hours’ (of the morning). “It is necessary to understand his mental state… and the sign that cannabis gives more of a high in the afternoon sun can be seen in him. The intoxication of ‘deputy’ is of ‘desi’ origin. Maharashtra is witnessing the result of who was once a ‘chief ’ accepting such a ‘deshi’ today…” the editorial said. “One can wake up someone who is sleeping, but how to wake up those who are pretending to be asleep is always a question.
In Maharashtra, this question has arisen in the case of BJP and DCM Fadnavis. One is our CM, he usually does not sleep. Second, deputy chief minister Fadnavis, he is always semi-conscious. ‘I said I will come again. It happened as I said, but I came even though some people betrayed me,” said Fadnavis..he has said it again and again. This is his semi-conscious state,” the editorial stated. “… Although Fadnavis and his party are semiconscious, people of Maharashtra are not sleeping,” the editorial stated. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar said BJP would not tolerate low-level language about Fadnavis.
As a mark of protest, copies of ‘Saamna’ were burnt in Kandivali (east) and other parts of the state. “Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut should take this as a warning…,” he said. BJP state chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule in Nagpur warned that a case would be filed against Saamna for defaming BJP leaders and party cadre would hit the streets to protest the article. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, guardian minister of Mumbai suburban district, said, “Not only BJP, but 12 crore people of Maharashtra have objection to his remarks. We will file a complaint…”
