Fadnavis Calls On Bjp Workers To ‘sacrifice’ For ’24 | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The BJP is the big brother in the three-party alliance in the state, and whenever necessary the big brother has to sacrifice, so take care of the other two brothers, Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis told party workers on Tuesday.
Addressing a meeting of party office-bearers on Mission 2024 at BJP’s Dadar office, Fadnavis said the party is in alliance with Shiv Sena and NCP and will have to take up this responsibility. “Even if we are in an alliance, BJP will not shift from its ideology but will take its two allies together. In the last two Lok Sabha elections, we won more than 40 seats and in the coming election too, we can break all records,” he said.
Party workers must be willing to sacrifice their aspirations if required as it was necessary to ensure PM Narendra Modi is re-elected not for the sake of the party but for the country, he said.
“We are workers who can sacrifice for the party and the country. So when will this opportunity to sacrifice be presented to us? We will not go to the borders and fight but through democratic means we can fight to take the country to its peak. To achieve this, we must be willing to sacrifice our aspirations,” he said.
On Maratha reservation, he said it was the BJP which ensured the reservation and even carried it through the high court. Even in the Supreme Court, it was not struck down till the BJP was in power, he said, adding that the party is sensitive to the Marathas, OBCs and the tribal community.
Attacking the opposition, Fadnavis said it was making efforts to create unrest in the state over these issues. He said Rahul Gandhi now remembers OBCs while it was he (Fadnavis) as chief minister who had set up a separate department for OBCs. “Of the 32 government resolutions for OBCs, 26 were issued by me as CM and the rest by the current government under Eknath Shinde,” he said.
The BJP’s fight, he said, is not against the “INDI alliance” but against forces behind them working to create anarchy. Referring to the raids on a news portal on Tuesday, Fadnavis said when the business of the web portal was investigated, it was found it is entirely funded by China.
