The leader of the opposition in the state assembly stated that the agency under the leadership of Mr Chilakala Rajesweara Reddy has transformed itself into a weapon targeting TDP activists and leaders both financially and politically

Former Chief Minister and TDP leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday shot off a letter to Governor S Abdul Nazeer, alleging that Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy-led dispensation is ‘systematically weakening’ TDP leaders and their families financially.

In a letter to the Governor, Naidu claimed that the Andhra Pradesh State Directorate for Revenue Intelligence (APSDRI) is intentionally being used to harass TDP leaders.

The leader of the opposition in the state assembly stated that the agency under the leadership of Mr Chilakala Rajesweara Reddy, a close associate of the ruling YSRCP, has transformed itself into a weapon targeting TDP activists and leaders both financially and politically.

He accused APSDRI officials of acting at the behest of the ruling party instead of upholding the law.

Highlighting instances of harassment, the senior leader of the party pointed to the recent case involving TDP MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao and former minister P Narayana in Nellore. The latest victim, he stated, is Mr Pattipati Pulla Rao’s son, Mr P Sarath, who served as an additional director of a firm for a brief period almost four years ago.

He expressed concern over the APSRDI taking over a case under the GST Director General, Hyderabad, questioning the motives behind such actions.

He asserted that these actions are clear attempts to target and harass TDP leaders, emphasizing the urgency for the Governor’s intervention to safeguard democracy in Andhra Pradesh.

In the letter, Naidu noted that quick action by Nazeer would help save democracy in the southern state.
