Defence Minister and Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha Rajnath Singh said he had not heard the remarks and urged the Chair to delete them from the proceedings if they have hurt the opposition members
BJP MP from South Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri on Thursday called Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) lawmaker Danish Ali a “terrorist” in the Lok Sabha.
The BJP leader’s remark came during the discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3 in the Lower House of Parliament. “Yeh ugrawaaadi (militant), Yeh aatankwaadi hai, ugrawaadi hai, Yeh aantankwaadi (terrorist) hai,” Bidhuri can be heard saying during proceedings.

Defence Minister and Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha Rajnath Singh expressed regret over Bidhuri’s remarks.
Singh said he had not heard the remarks and urged the Chair to delete them from the proceedings if they have hurt the opposition members. Congress member K Suresh, who was in the Chair, said he had already directed the officials to expunge the remarks.
“I express regret if the opposition is hurt by the remarks made by the member,” the defence minister said. Singh’s gesture was appreciated by the members by thumping the desks.
Chandrayaan-3 touched down on the lunar south pole on August 23, propelling India to an exclusive club of four and making it the first country to land on the uncharted surface.
The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the women’s reservation bill with 454 members supporting it and two opposing it.
The bill has proposed that the reservation will continue for a period of 15 years and there will be one-third quota for women also within the seats reserved for SC/STs.
Rajya Sabha on Thursday passed the women’s reservation bill, a day after it was cleared in Lok Sabha by an overwhelming majority.
The Bill, which is now on its way to the President of India, will become an Act once ratified by her and be inserted into the Constitution as a new article – 334A. The voting on the Bill in Rajya Sabha was held after an 11-hour debate even as all members, cutting across party lines, supported it even as some opposition members called it an election gimmick.
Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha were adjourned sine die on Thursday.
