The mother of the child frantically asked the police to let the ambulance go as her child was fighting for life

An ambulance, carrying an infant in a serious condition, was allegedly made to wait for an hour by the police in traffic on Friday as the convoy of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was about to pass through the area.

The mother of the child frantically asked the police to let the ambulance go as her child was fighting for life. She almost broke down when the child fell unconscious. Despite several attempts, the police allegedly did not allow the ambulance to pass.

All vehicles were stopped by the Patna police in order to allow the Chief Minister’s convoy to pass. The ambulance reached the area at the same time as the police had stopped all traffic on the crowded road, NDTV reported.

The Chief Minister, who had inaugurated an ethanol factory in Nalanda, was returning to Patna on Friday when this incident occurred.

NDTV quoted the driver of the ambulance as saying that he kept requesting the police to let them go and also informed that they were travelling from Fatuha to Patna. He also claimed that the policemen saw the condition of the child but even after that did not give the required permission to the ambulance.

Last month, a similar incident was reported in Bihar’s Patna where an ambulance carrying a patient who was to be admitted to the emergency ward was stopped by the police to let Nitish Kumar’s convoy pass.

The family members of the patient was seen crying in a video that was shared on social media. The ambulance was allowed to leave the area only after the Chief Minister’s convoy crossed.

BJP IT Cell Head, Amit Malviya reacted to this earlier incident on his official ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter account. He had slammed Kumar saying that, “dreaming of becoming the prime minister and yet he put someone’s life at stake”.

He also compared  Kumar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “On the one hand, where Modi ji stopped many times not only his convoy but even roadshows to give way to the ambulance, Nitish Babu did not think at all about the family crying in the ambulance.”
