Asian Games, Day 13 schedule: India take on Japan in men’s hockey final, cricket team face Bangladesh in semis

It is set to be a busy day for India in the Asian Games 2023. The Indian contingent is in touching distance of 100 medals, just 14 away from the landmark figure. India have enjoyed a tremendous campaign, and if things go their way, they will be winning a few more in the last few days of continental competition.

Asian Games 2023: Medal Tally

The action will start early in the morning with archers competing in multiple events. At 6:30 AM in the morning HS Prannoy and Satwik-Chirag – the only two remaining players from the Indian badminton contingent will take part in their semi-final events. Parallelly with badminton, India will be playing in the cricket semi-final against Bangladesh and will be the favourites to make it to the final of the competition.

Later in the day, India will be playing the men’s hockey final against Japan and multiple wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia.

Day 12 Highlights

India won three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze on Wednesday. The Indian contingent also secured 2 medals in badminton with HS Prannoy and Satwik-Chirag winning their quarter-final matches.

India’s Saurav Ghosal clinched silver in the men’s singles event in squash on Thursday, 5 October. The 37-year-old legendary squash player was searching for his first ever individual gold medal in the event, but had to remain satisfied with the silver medal after losing his match in four games.

India won the gold medal in archery in the compound men’s event in Asian Games 2023. The team, comprising Ojas Pravin Deotale, Abhishek Verma and Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar, helped India beat South Korea 235-230 at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Centre Final Field. It also meant India won their 21st gold medal in the ongoing tournament in Hangzhou.
