Apple Watch X would be equipped with a thinner case.
The 2024 new Apple Watch will unlikely have significant innovative experiences.
The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple may not bring major changes to the Apple Watch X series in 2024. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently reported that the 2024 Apple Watch is unlikely to offer significant innovative experiences and will not adopt a micro-LED display.
According to MacRumors, Kuo recently in its post on Medium, said that Apple Watch will not be equipped with a micro-LED display or blood glucose monitoring in 2024. He also added that these features are at least two years away from being added to the Apple Watch.
“It’s unclear if Kuo’s prediction rules out the launch of the rumored “Apple Watch X” next year. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said a significantly overhauled Apple Watch X would launch in either 2024 or 2025, to mark the tenth anniversary of the device,” MacRumors said.
Contrary to Kuo’s report, Gurman claimed the Apple Watch X, would be equipped with a thinner case, and potentially a magnetic band attachment system. And if the device doesn’t launch until 2025, perhaps the rumored micro-LED display will also be ready.
Kuo, in its report, also said that Apple Watch shipments are expected to decline to 36-38 million units in 2023, a decline of approximately 15 percent on a year-over-year basis. However, he said that Apple Watch integration with Apple’s upcoming Vision Pro headset could “create an unparalleled and innovative health management experience that boosts shipments.
“The Apple Watch is a classic example of a product that succeeded through repositioning. However, based on current shipment momentum, it may need to be repositioned again if there’s an unfortunate year-over-year decline again in 2024,” he added.
Meanwhile Apple’s mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro, which the iPhone maker calls a ‘spatial computer,’ will support screen mirroring via AirPlay or FaceTime. The spatial computer from Apple was unveiled earlier this year at a price of $3,499.
However, the Vision Pro headset will be available in the US in early 2024 before expanding to other countries at later dates.
According to a report from MacRumors, you will be able to mirror your Vision Pro display to an external monitor or TV, or share your view with others through AirPlay or FaceTime.
