Pawan Kalyan condemned Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest at Nandyala, earlier today. He was on his way to Vijayawada to support the former CM

Andhra Pradesh police on Saturday blocked a convoy of vehicles belonging to Janasena party president Pawan Kalyan in NTR district twice, forcing him to get off of his vehicle and walk towards Mangalagiri in Vijayawada, a party leader said.

Kalyan condemned Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest at Nandyala, earlier today. He was on his way to Vijayawada to support the former CM.

Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the Skill Development Corporation scam early Saturday morning.

The former CM was taken by road to Vijayawada following the arrest. He is being interrogated by the Andhra Pradesh CID in the alleged Skill Development scam.

The AP police blocked Kalyan’s convoy near Jaggayyapeta after he crossed the Telangana-AP border via road, the party leader said, adding that he was stopped for the second time at Anumanchipalli.

“After crossing Jaggayyapeta, Kalyan has been stranded by AP police,” said the Janasena leader. The party leaders and cadres are protesting the blockade, he added.

Another Jansena leader Nadendla Manohar posted a video on X wherein Kalyan was heard saying “looks like we need a visa and passport” to enter Andhra Pradesh at this juncture.

After the second blockade, Kalyan got out of his vehicle and decided to walk to Mangalagiri.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was arrested at around 6 am in the morning following a high-voltage drama at midnight.

Before police took him in custody, Naidu took to X (formally Twitter), and wrote, “For the past 45 years, I have selflessly served Telugu people. I am prepared to sacrifice my life to safeguard the interests of Telugu people. No force on earth can stop me from serving Telugu people, my #AndhraPradesh and my motherland.”

Several cases have been registered against the TDP chief under sections 120(b), 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 201, and 109, along with 34 and 37 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 have also been invoked against him.
