The war has affected the foreign trade worth crores.

Around 50 per cent of the total production of bangles and glassware in Firozabad is exported to many countries.

In India, Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh is famous for its glass industry. It is called the city of glass or the city of bangles. The city produces a wide range of glass products. Firozabad is one of the leading exporters and manufacturers of glassware and around 50 per cent of the total production is exported to different parts of the world. Various glass products manufactured here include bangles, kada, kangans, jars, glasses, candle stands, flower vases, decorative lights, and many more. The ongoing war between Israel and Palestine has severely affected exports, and this has taken a toll on the glass industry in Firozabad.

According to reports, due to the war between Israel and Palestine, the traders are facing uncertainty over orders worth crores received earlier. The traders in Firozabad fear huge losses.

Santosh Aggarwal, a glassware manufacturer, said that many glass items are manufactured in Firozabad, and all the traders receive huge orders during the festive season. He also added that there are orders not only from India but from abroad as well. In such a situation, due to the war between Israel and Palestine, foreign trade has been severely affected. He said, “We had received orders worth crores of rupees from abroad, which have now been stopped. Due to this, the glass business is incurring losses worth crores. In such a situation, even completed orders are not being shipped.”

Some of the most common types of products were Christmas hanging wax-feeling flower pots. These are sent abroad on orders, but this time these orders have been stopped, due to which there is an estimated loss of Rs 10 to 15 crore. The war has also affected orders from other countries as the trade route has also been affected.
