‘Maharashtra, Rest of India Knows Who’s Party Founder’: Sharad Pawar to Present His Side to ECI on NCP Split – News18

Sharad Pawar on Sunday said he will be in Delhi on October 6 to present his side about the internal split in the NCP at a hearing of the Election Commission of India about the same matter. He said everyone knows who has founded the party, and there is no place in the NCP for those who join the BJP.

The NCP split on July 2 after Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra. Both the factions have petitioned the ECI for the party name and symbol. “What the common man thinks is important. Some people have taken a different political stand and I don’t want to comment on it as it is their right in a democracy. But, Maharashtra and the rest of the country know who is the founder of NCP. There is truth in what my people say that the situation is favourable to us,” Sharad Pawar told reporters at Junnar in Pune district.

He added: “Those who have joined hands with the BJP cannot belong to the NCP. We don’t accept compromise in such a manner.”

Pawar also said the next course of action of the opposition front, INDIA, will be finalised in the next few days. “People want a change and that will be seen after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

‘Those who break up homes, families…’: Supriya Sule dig

Without naming the BJP and calling the NCP a “home”, MP Supriya Sule indirectly said it was obvious who is behind the breakup of her party. She said those sitting in Delhi were pulling the strings but she has full faith in the ECI but has been feeling uneasy since Praful Patel “started giving out all the dates”.

“…I have full faith in the EC, but I started feeling uneasy since Praful Patel started giving all the dates… EC is an independent authority, then who is giving dates to Praful Patel?…”
