4 Caught In Turkey With Fake Travel Docus Deported | – Times of India



Mumbai: The Sahar police have arrested four persons hailing from Amritsar, Haryana and Punjab for flying to Istanbul on forged documents. The accused had plans to later travel from there to the US as illegal immigrants. They were deported to Mumbai on Tuesday after immigration authorities in Turkey caught them with fake papers, including forged certificates of a maritime training centre in Navi Mumbai. tnn

Five individuals have been arrested in Kolkata for operating an organized racket involved in extortion, forgery, and the production of fake currency notes, stamp papers, and official documents. The group is alleged to have produced not only government documents from the state but also those from the defense establishment and Bangladesh. The police have seized various items, including fake documents related to the Defense Research and Development Organization and an identification document from Bangladesh. Immigration racket using fake marksheets busted
A fake marksheets racket for immigration purposes was busted by the Anand district police in Vadodara. Two individuals, including an immigration consultant, were arrested. The police received information about the use of fake documents by K C Overseas, an immigration agency. A raid on their office resulted in the discovery of 20 fake marksheets. The agency operator and an accomplice from Vadodara were detained and questioned. The marksheets were provided by the Vadodara accomplice, and further investigation is underway to uncover the extent of the racket.
Pune police seek approval for immigration branch
The Pune city police are planning to propose the establishment of an immigration branch to monitor illegal immigrants, similar to the one operated by the Mumbai police. They are also seeking the creation of a deportation center to house foreigners who have been detained for staying illegally. Currently, detainees are forced to stay at police stations until their citizenship status is confirmed. The proposed immigration branch would consist of five to six officers and 50 personnel to gather intelligence and identify illegal entries. The police also want the branch officers to have powers of arrest, investigation, and filing chargesheets against offenders.
